I have officially sent out my applications to my top four universities and now we can cue the long 2 week nervous anticipation for the letters to come in.
My first choice is Texas State University:
I absolutely love this campus and community. It's a total college town and the campus is beautiful. My cousin Cherie received her MBA from here and my other cousin Madison is graduating in May. Every single time I visit TXST I fall in love all over again. Not to mention you're dead smack in the middle of San Antonio and Austin. It's literally 30 minutes each way. I could go on and on about this university. It's just the right one for me. Also, my friend Danitzza applied to this school and we both have decided that if we both get in that we can be roommates and avoid the whole strange weird random roommate situation. Sounds good to me!
2nd, Texas Tech University
Complete opposite of my first choice, right. Texas Tech has such an awesome communications program there and I just know I could gain great knowledge from there. Although, it is extremely far away from Anthony which makes me a little apprehensive about the possibility of attending this school. Who knows though, I won't get ahead of myself. But my best friend Jordan goes to school there currently and last time I went to go visit her I loved it!
3rd, St. Mary's University
This is my grandfather's alumni college. Once I told him that I applied, his face lit up as if I had just won the lottery. It's a private catholic university in San Antonio. Yes, I know what you're thinking, I just applied here to be close to Ant but after looking into this school, it seems like I'd really enjoy it! Of course, Anthony being literally 10 minutes away will be a major upside to going here. Hopefully out go the 14 grandchildren, I will be the one to fulfill his dream of us going to his alumni school.
Last but not least, University of North Texas
An option close to home. I have 2 little sisters that are growing up incredibly fast and are involved in so much. Maybe if I go somewhere a little closer to home, I would be able to still see them, along with my parents, as much as I wanted and be there whenever they needed me. Also, I've heard nothing but good things from some friends who go there now.
With me being 21 in nearly a month an a half, I think it's time for me to leave the nest and spread my wings. Seriously, this move is just long overdue. Everyone wish me luck and say a little prayer for me!
